Áo Dài Festival 8 proudly features distinguished designers whose work honors Vietnamese heritage while embracing modern innovation. From exquisite handcrafted áo dài to couture runway creations, each designer brings a unique artistic voice to this year’s celebration. Through their craftsmanship and creativity, they continue to preserve and elevate the beauty of Vietnamese fashion for new generations.

Our Designers

Lê Sĩ Hoàng

M.A. Lê Sĩ Hoàng is a Master of Arts, designer, and cultural researcher who has dedicated over three decades to elevating the Vietnamese Áo Dài.


As founder of Vietnam’s first Áo Dài Museum and President of the Vietnamese Costume Research Institute, he has transformed the Áo Dài into a living symbol of national identity.


His collections have been showcased across the United States, Europe, and Asia. He has designed for the Queen of Sweden, the Queen and Princess of Denmark, the wife of the Russian Prime Minister, Michelle Obama, and numerous global leaders.


His philosophy:
“Life is not about leaving behind a name, but leaving behind value.”


At ADF8, audiences will witness a living legend of Vietnamese heritage.

Calvin Hiệp

Calvin Hiệp is a celebrated Vietnamese fashion designer and founder of HYP Design. For more than 30 years, he has specialized in exquisite custom gowns and Áo Dài. As the fashion designer for Thúy Nga’s Paris By Night series—and for numerous Vietnamese entertainment centers across the United States and around the world—Calvin has created show‑stopping costumes for top vocalists and staged unforgettable runway segments. 

By fusing Eastern silhouettes with Western couture techniques, he crafts garments that are both distinctive and breathtaking. Renowned for his artistic flair and originality, Calvin is now one of the most sought‑after Áo Dài designers in the Vietnamese fashion community and beyond.

Ngô Nhật Huy

Ngô Nhật Huy is a renowned Vietnamese designer celebrated for his exquisite Áo Dài creations that seamlessly blend tradition with modern sophistication. With more than 20 years of experience in Áo Dài design, he has become a household name in Vietnam’s fashion industry—particularly through his contributions to prestigious beauty pageants such as Miss Việt Nam, Miss Grand Việt Nam, and Mrs. Vietnam International. 
 
His signature designs, crafted from the finest Vietnamese silk and adorned with intricate embroidery, have captivated audiences worldwide. Known for creating Áo Dài that exude elegance while maintaining a youthful and dynamic essence, Ngô Nhật Huy remains a sought-after designer among celebrities and discerning clients. Through his artistry, he continues to redefine the timeless charm of Áo Dài, making it a symbol of Vietnamese grace and innovation.

Vũ Thảo Giang

Vũ Thảo Giang is a Vietnamese fashion designer and cultural ambassador whose work transforms the Áo Dài into a vessel for heritage, sustainability, and national pride.

Born in the mountains of Cao Bang to a Tay ethnic family, she built her career around one philosophy: "Each design is a cultural ambassador." Using lotus silk, brocade, and regional motifs, her collections have celebrated Vietnam's landscapes and traditions across all three regions of the country.

From showcasing at the Presidential Palace to being the first Vietnamese Áo Dài designer honored by UN Women Asia-Pacific in Seoul, Thao Giang has brought Vietnamese heritage to international stages spanning Korea, Japan, Russia, Canada, and beyond.

At ADF8, she brings a legacy of craft, culture, and quiet conviction that Vietnamese identity belongs on the world stage.
