About Us

Finding Inspiration in Every Turn

About Us

The Ao Dai Festival was founded by Dan Do and the late Jenny Do, an attorney with a deep passion for the arts and social change. Jenny envisioned the festival as a way to celebrate and preserve Vietnamese culture while using art to inspire positive societal transformation. Since its inception, the festival has showcased the elegance and resilience of the iconic áo dài, a symbol of Vietnamese identity.

Our Origin

The Ao Dai Festival began with a partnership with the Friends of Hue Foundation (FHF), a California-based NGO supporting vulnerable communities in Central Vietnam. The festival not only celebrated Vietnamese culture but also provided critical support to FHF’s children’s shelter, offering hope and brighter futures to those in need.

As the festival grew, so did our commitment to making a broader impact. We now partner with multiple charities and organizations, both locally and globally, to amplify our efforts in fostering community and supporting humanitarian causes.

Our Mission

We are dedicated to celebrating and preserving Vietnamese culture for future generations. Through fashion shows, cultural performances, and educational workshops, the Ao Dai Festival fosters cross-cultural understanding, pride, and unity within our community. By honoring our heritage, we inspire future generations to embrace and continue these rich traditions.

Our Impact

While our partnership with the Friends of Hue Foundation remains a cornerstone, we have expanded our support to a wider range of charitable causes, reflecting our belief that art and culture can drive social good. Our collaborations now extend to various humanitarian efforts, from education and healthcare to community development.

Our Story

The Ao Dai Festival is a testament to the shared vision of Dan Do and Jenny Do, who believed in the transformative power of art and culture. Their passion and dedication have shaped the festival into a vibrant platform where tradition meets transformation. Today, under Dan Do’s leadership, we continue to honor Jenny’s legacy by celebrating Vietnamese culture and using art to make a positive impact.

Join us as we honor the past, celebrate the present, and work together to ensure a future where Vietnamese culture and our shared values of compassion and community continue to thrive.
